Hello all!
I had to get a physical today so that the State would be convinced that I 
have a disability and am not trying to scam them into adapting a van for me.  
Since it was my choice on what physician to go to, I made sure to select 
someone who was at least conversant with PPS.  The Dr. impressed me with her 
unwillingness to jump on PPS as the blame for all my ailments (not a good 
term, but can't think of anything else right now).  If I can get my wife's 
HMO to pay for the tests, she wants me to start of with Xrays to check the 
scoliosis.  The shortness of breath I experience after any kind of exertion 
might be caused by the spine constricting the lung expansion.  Of course the 
old saw of "we might be able to do something about that now" raised it's head 
when she mentioned that the spine could be straightened out surgically "as an 
extreme measure".  She also wants me to take a pulmonory (sp) function test 
to find what levels of breathing I am doing.  Then it is on to a sleep test 
to see if breathing problems might be the cause of poor sleep.
I told my wife that I was being examined to see if I had a heart, a spine, if 
I was breathing, and finally to see if this was all a bad dream!   Been 
accused of being heartless, spineless, living in dreamland, etc a few times, 
now there will be proof one way or the other.
Basically, there is no current medical records on me.  Got to checking and 
the last time I had been to a doctor was in 1979.  Has something to do with 
not having insurance. :-}  These doctors nowadays will not even setup an 
appointment until they have it in writing how they are going to get paid.
