Yes, that's entirely on the BBS you're calling from about changing the name,
however, there is a way to do it with Multimail but it's a hassle: after
creating all of your replies, go back in to the REPLY area and you can edit
each message there allowing you to change your name.

As long as you sign your messages with your full name, I'm cool with it.
