Good News!  Governor Mike Leavitt has signed the following (2)
bills into law. 
SB 141, which provides an exemption from the Brady law for right
to carry permit holders.
HB 304, a bill that would require 10% of registered voter
signatures from 20 counties  -- current law requires only 15
counties -- to qualify any ballot initiative.  This change in the
law will make it much more difficult for the animal extremists to
push ballot measures. 
The bills listed below are still pending his signature:
HB 343, NRA-backed Range Protection legislation.
SB 140, which will increase the carry permit duration from 2yrs.
to 5yrs. (no fee increase).  
Please call Governor Leavitt's office at (801) 538-1000 and
politely ask him to sign these bills.
