And hopefully the fan will not need to kick in as often.  And.. you will be
able to run longer on battery power.  The best I can get with my 3rd-party
replacement battery for my T60 is 3.5 hours. :(

So, a SDD has many added bonuses for sure!

But I just realized that if I were to switch to SDD, I might run into a snag
since my 235gb hdd came partitioned like so: C=35gb H=200gb

How would I be able to reconstitute my existing setup to a larger SDD while
still retaining the content on C and H?

C and H partitioning was not my choice. The laptop was 2nd hand and arrived
that way.
