I know what you mean by doing it all by yourself.  I'm lucky, in that my
friend with the boat is retired.  His wife and mine both work, so we can go
fishing during the week anytime we want.  Even the expense isn't too bad.  We
usually split the expenses of gas, bait, etc. and get out with about $10.00
each.
