SA>One thing you don't mention what bedding - is he on straw? Wood shavings

SA>as much fun to muck out, and peat's expensive (might not even be
SA>available where you are) but it might be worth a try.
SA>He could have hay fever, but it sounds like you've considered that
SA>already. Is he better when he's out for the day?
We tried straw but switched to wood shavings right away. The straw
seemed to grow
mold quickly in damp climate. We are trying Cedar at this time. We locked him
out of the
stable for several weeks and didn't notice an improvement.
tion of some kind?
MA>...kinda funny that this is only on one side....
MA> How long ago did this start. Was it gradual or did it happen fast?
MA>Good luck! Keep us posted on how you make out.
It has been going on for some time now. Seems like it started about 2
years ago and
gradually got worse. They haven't done any testing for tumors or obstuctions.
It does seem
funny that only one nostril runs. Also, I have seen horses with Heaves and it
seems to me
that it shows up after exercise. My horse labors for every breath at rest. I
haven't rode or
exercised him for quite some time because of this. I will find out where the
nearest school is
and check on getting him in.
