JF> KV> It's part of the anime world. They gather their energy
JF> KV> from within and use
JF> KV> it in the form of fireballs. Besides fireballs you can do other
specia
JF> KV> moves. Not all anime based games are the same.
JF>
JF> Yeah, but it's not really a FIGHTING game, per se. Especially if you
loo
JF> at lot of Capcom's games - it's more about memorizing combos and shooting
JF> projecticles than actually learning how to fight (in hand-to-hand, BTW)
wel
JF>
What's wrong with memorizing combos? Do you have slow fingers? The Virtual
Fighter series are poor. The fighting is boring. All you do is stand there
and punch and kick the guy. You can barely jump over the guy. When you do
you hang in the air for like 5 seconds before you land. It's rediculous.
JF> KV> I've played the games enough. Virtual Fighter 3 was so
JF> KV> easy. The fighting and
JF> KV> controls are bad. Now the Tekken series esepcially 2 &
JF> KV> 3 kick ass. They have
JF> KV> tons of moves and combos that any of those crappy
JF> KV> virtual figher games and
JF> KV> fighting vipers has. I really like King's grabbing kombos on Tekken
3.
JF> KV> can't wait till 3 comes out for PSX. I also want to get
Streetfighter
JF> KV> Plus. Do you know if it's out yet? I haven't seen it anywhere.
JF>
JF> Where do you get this "bad control" thing? I'm using the -PC- version
of
JF> VF2, and the controls are so intuitive it's scary. I can defeat the CPU
in
JF> two perfect sets! It may be a bit easy (I do agree with that issue), but
t
JF> fact that I can even do so at all is testament to the control scheme.
JF> Once again, what the heck is so important about combos? It's only
JF> memorizing a sequence. You might as well spend a few bucks to get one of
JF> those Simon memory games; you'll get the same amount of entertainment for
l
JF> cash. In the VF series you have to acquire skill, not just moves from a
JF> strategy guide.
JF>
JF> PS No, I don't know about the status of SF EX Plus Alpha. But why would
yo
JF> care? It's too much like the 2D games.
JF>
Computer controllers or keyboards are bad for fighting games. All you use is
three buttons for punch, kick, and block. Combos make the game interesting
and fun instead of just standing there punching and kicking. It requires
skills of memory and quick fingers. The Virtual Fighter series require
barely any skill to beat. SF EX Plus is out! I just saw it in the
store. I am definitely getting it.
