Well.. I'm in the states, and you'll probably need to talk with
someone familiar with your particular area and regulations for
some of the fine points, but I'm sure there are a few of us out
here that have done installs ourselves. I myself had to install
mine on the side of a hill that slopes at about 30 degrees, and
THAT brought in a whole bunch of things I had to do differently
with the base/foundation and mounting. Tell us a bit about the
choices you have for mounting and/or if you've chosen the site
already and we can go from there. If you've already got the
dish installed - describe the setup and surrounding area, plus
a descript of what your 'sighting window' on the arc is like.
It might also be of help if you have a digital camera or some
scans of photos of the planned install site(s). I, myself, would
find this very useful if you want to email them to me, or if they
are small enough when archived - you are welcome to 'crash' them
to me via netmail (at 1:2003/0). I could also pull them from an
internet ftp site if you have one available.
You may also be asked for your geo-loc (latitude/longitude) and
your elevation above sea level. You'll need to know these things
anyway in order to sight the first 'bird'. Are you "C" band ?
Also, a listing of the equipment make/models might be of help too.
Physical size of the dish plays a big role in the type of site.
Sincerely,
           Bruce - kb6lwn@qsl.net - ck@saber.net
