CD>> The average cost of public school pupil education is $6630 in
CD>> the US, Catholic schools average is $2178, nonreligious
CD>> private schools is $2915. A voucher should be more than ample.
BK> Well, how about we just give the private schools that $2915.
PB> What's wrong with giving each school child a voucher of $6630 for
PB> tuition for the year? And let the parents decide where they'd like
PB> their children to go to school? That sum covers everything for the
PB> year.
Ever do the math? An average class size of 30 would bring just a
hair under 200,000 bucks, with $6630 vouchers! Five-thousand
buck vouchers should be plenty to give teachers nice raises and
pay for everything else. Return the savings to the taxpayers.
BTW, I'm sorry that I couldn't figure out that nonsense
from the other poster about how the public would have less
interest in education if we had a voucher system. But,
with a voucher system expect a dramatic increase in
private and business contributions to schools.
