-=> Quoting MARK VANSICKLE to David Marheine <=-
MV> I'm still looking for a CD that pretty much replicates the old
MV> Yardbirds' Greatest Hits vinyl LP. Any hints on *any* 'birds G.H. CDs
MV> would be much appreciated. I'm looking at an old Schwann book that shows
MV> a couple of Rhino discs and a couple of Sony Special Editions discs..
I've seen a bunch of others! In fact, repackaging the Yardbirds' catalog
into "greatest hits" discs seems to be almost a cottage industry for some
small (mostly!) fly-by-night labels. I've got one on the Masters label out
of Holland entitled _Yardbirds' Golden Hits_.
MV> ..and no single CD that looks like it might have "I'm Not Talking" and
MV> "Happenings Ten Years' Time Ago"..
Naw, this one has I'm A Man/Jeff's Blues/Shapes Of Things/The Train Kept A
Rolling/Boom Boom/I Ain't Got You/Good Morning Little Schoolgirl/Still I'm
Sad/For Your Love/Too Much Monkey Business. The sound quality is nothing
spectacular, but it's decent (especially for a $7.99 point-of-purchase rack
offering, which this disc is).
(Box Of Frogs)
MV> Rory Gallagher?
Yup, he appears on.. looks like 6 tracks.
MV> How old is the _Box of Frogs_ album?
The first album was released in '84, and _Strangeland_ in '86.
MV> CD info (#)?
It's on the Renaissance label (distributed by Sony), cat. no. RMED00106.
DM>> NP: Sam Kinison _Live From Hell_
MV> ..laughing so hard I was weeping.
Another Kinison fan? Hmmmm. I dunno, something about the man causes me
to practically sprain my finger on the "channel change" button when I
run across him while channel surfing... ;-)
MV> ..about four songs--Sam's vocals with some decent backup by Steve
MV> Vai and others.
No kiddin'? Now THAT I'd like to hear.. at least once!
NP: the Collins Kids w/ Joe Maphis "Peter Gunn Theme"
... If we aren't supposed to eat animals, why are they made of meat?
