Ummm...yeeeeerrrss. You have that slightly arse about tit in that actually
you have to tell it to boot into X.

It is unfortunate that I have no idea wrt the Fedora config GUIs but there
will be a tick box somewhere which says "Boot into X" usually
accompanies by a "boot as designated user" so that if you're the
only user & you like to (a) finish the boot sequence with X running
& (b) have it booted into X as "you" then you can set that
too.

Have you had any luck since your orig mail was written?

It's difficult as I am not knowledgeable wrt Fedora setup utils etc but
often a quick method when you've f*cked up h/w settings is to re-run the
install as an upgrade & usually the "upgrade process" will
fix common errors while leaving existing good stuff alone. Again I can only
state this wrt the debians (inc Ubuntu), suse/novell & Mandriva.
