subject: How to browse a CD in Linux?

From: Randall Parker

Running with Fedora Core 5 and KDE. Trying to get a clue on the most basic of things.

I go look under /dev and I see:

cdrom
cdrom-hdc
cdrw
cdrw-hdc
cdwriter
cdwriter-hdc
dvd
dvd-hdc
dvdrw
dvdrw-hdc
dvdwriter
dvdwriter-hdc

Do these all refer to the same CD/DVD device?

Suppose I had two CD/DVD devices. Would I see two sets of these in /dev?

Also, suppose I slide a blank CD into the drive. How'm I supposed to look
at it in Konqueror or in some other file browsing sort of doo hickey? Go to
/dev in Konqueror and click on /cdrom?
