Yes, although not in my horses.. my friend has a Perch..and he has a serious 
problem with it.

Depending on the facilities.. I wouldn't want them out to pasture.. I'd want 
them in a controlled situation like a pen or a barn where it could be kept 
dry and have shavings in it and where you could treat it regularly.
 
 
I do know that the shoers association in the US has been experiementing with 
"soaking" serious white line problems in a solution that they've been 
developing..
