No problem about the echo and the time factor. I included all
conferences in my daily digest, and some of them are still in 2005
or 2006, so no problem, I will expect a few....huh...whatcha talking
about ...

I am always busy, since retirement. Always something to do,
and I believe what one retiree said years ago....There is more
work to be had...no extra hours in a day...and certainly not enough
hours ...No pay for what is done..No OT pay...and it is never
ending, but thats life.

The problem is well passed. My pc started before the welcome
screen in WindowsXP always displayed a problem of a drive
C:\ ?\a file ...and it was never corrected, and I never
could find the file. Funny thing when my niece in Brazil or
Brasil had the same problem, and I was down there..I found it
corrected it, and the pc is running faster ....but not with
XP.. so I just form there had so many things like I couldn't
connect to the Internet, and Explorer was with it...so I re
installed the WindowsXP program again.

My first pc had DOS 5.0 then I got Windows 3.11 and then
Windows 95, and then the jump to this one, and with all of
them every month, and with a so-called helpful upgrade they
all went squirrely after getting this XP.

I still run DOS 5.0 programs with XP and it seems not a day
goes by that the machine..a Medion acts up with the upgrades
almost like saying that it is time to shellout more ca$h to
Microsoft for Vista .... Getting pretty fedUp. Only in
regards to the Internet do I do upgrades, as Internet is
so demanding.

A friend lately gave me an IBM with Windows 98 in it,
and while it is not connected to the Internet, it has
developed a problem, where now it doesn't even read
the Windows98 program, and I thought it was either
the hard drive or memory chips gone, as it went dummy
and with all the corrections to a program on disk
it continues to screw up...and all the time I need
to re-set and do path files...when at the end of each
session it usually updates the files on the disk and
no problem running it.

Of course it was cold in the house below freezing
one night ...right after I shut off the pc...30mins
later the power went off...and it was really cold
and I know freezing in that computer room....so
perhaps I was think the cold there did that pc
in... aah what a bother

   Thank you for the reply

   Peter
