You have probably run a program that has gone memory resident 
(for the first time) while in the "shell", and then you failed 
to "release" the program from memory before trying to return to 
the editor.

If you are not sure if this is the case or not, use the mem.exe
program to see if that is the case, and then clear it up before 
returning to the editor from the shell.

Let me know what you find.
