I started KDE System Guard (like NT Task Manager - thanks Rich Gauszka) and
sorted by VmSize. My processes are bigger than their %MEM in ps aux would
lead one to expect. So the use of memory seems more plausible. Lots of the
"k" processes of KDE are about 35k each and there are several of
them.
What is VmRss? It is less than VmSize for each process.
