Unfortunately I don't know enough about that particular situation to comment
fairly on it one way or another, but if it's like almost every other
political hassle there will always be two sides to the story, and three or
more different approaches on how to solve the mess.
Offhand, and speaking strictly for myself, it doesn't seem to make a whole
lot of sense to split the opposition to any gun-control laws, although I'm
sure each faction has its own reasons for doing so.
What happens though is that, as in Canada, with our two federal "right-wing
conservative" parties being at each others throats all the time, the
socialist-minded gun-grabbing Liberals always manage to sneak up the middle
and get re-elected.
