After a 300 MB yum update, the mouse is dead.  I'm trying to track down
mouse diagnostics, but I have a feeling it will eventually come down to
getting the driver source code and see what changed.   Some of the updates
were security related, but I can't tell.  There are no error messages or
meaningful diagnostics.

   The  mouse hardware still works fine in Windows.
