Sorry 'bout all the dead space that precedes my last message to
CoolGUY.......don't know what I was doin!
Ahhh....but while I'm here, I gotta question, and would welcome any
response.
I'm sure you guys are familiar with the musical group Marilyn
Manson...especially if your a teen, or got teenage kids.
Well.....they're coming in concert here pretty soon. I told my 14 year
old son ....AnYwAY......I told him "No"....he couldn't go to the
concert. I take big-time exeption to the nature of their lyrics, and to
some of the statements Manson has made publicly. My son is used to alot
of freedom...he's a sweet guy, and has deserved it. I guess this is the
first time I've said "NO" to anything he's asked to do. BOY! Is he mad
at mom, or WHAT!!???
Well....I'm sticking with my guns...and we've talked
as to why I won't allow him to go. I don't want some of that....what I
call garbage...feeding his head.......don't want my $ feeding MM's
wallet.
I've allowed my son to have one of their CD's.....I thought thaT was his
"right"...to have the music he enjoyed. But he plays it ALL the time,
and he thinks "they rule".
He can't, or won't seem to move on to other music, or groups.
My question..........was I "too strict" in saying "NO"? Any input
appreciated.....
                                           a smile anna hug...
