In most cases, it's just like being there. not only that, but you are also seeing *all* of what the director videoed... they work with equipment that is much wider than what the average CRT TV can display... i don't recall what the resolution of a movie theater screen is but that's the target, anyway... this is why most all movies you see on TV have something in the beginning about their having been modified... they've been modified by cutting a few inches off of each side of the screen so that you can see the central portion of the video... the problem with this is that many times the directors also had something else going on in the back left area that they wanted watchful folk to see... however, you can't even see it on TV because of the trimming of the sides that was done...
