Michael- You and I have spoken about FAL s before. I won't tell you how I
got my rifle for modesty sake( HA) but it ended up costing me about $200
three or four years ago. I have yet to have it fail to shoot and to shoot
just about where I wanted it to shoot. After I figured out where the gas
port setting was supposed to be , I have never had it jam or fail to feed.
I know that Rick Nolan has some doubts about the FAL and I don't deny that
he may have had some problems in the past that I have not experienced. But I
thought that the M-14 was the best 7.62 simi-auto rifle I had ever fired
until I started shooting this FAL L1A1. Now, I just don't know which one I
like best. But considering that I saw an ad recently for a weapon that is
just exactly like mine for the paultry sum of $1295.00 , I think I will keep
mine and in as safe a place as I can. In my hands, as much as possible.
