Actually, the last version of the printed manual is current
through version 2.6, and I think the last printing was in
1997 or so. But everything since 2.8 has only been
available in the help system.
I sure would like to print those manuals again though.
Maybe one day?

Yes, the help for lDos() and Dos() needs updating. Version
2.8 - 4.0 Console are all the same, but they are different
from v2.5 in some significant ways. v4.0 Windows (or GUI) is
also a little different, especially in terms of spawning
console programs. But, you can always redirect the output
and load it in a buffer, using the capture command or the
tee32.exe program.
It is on my (long, long) todo list!
