My wife (age 67) smoked for several years and was able to finally quit
on April 22, 1996. From time-to-time she also needed to take medication
for bronchitis. She was also diagnosed as having asthma(sp?) about
2 years ago.
Since last April she has been spitting up phlegm(sp?). She has
developed a cough worse, even, than when she smoked. A doctor told her
in the last week that she will never be free of the cough.
Is there a legitimate alternate opinion out there? Why won't her
chest clear up?
