 Hi Lawrence:-)
-=> Quoting Lawrence Garvin to Stewy <=-
LG> My apologies if my 'listings' confused the issue, Stewy. The five "DT
LG> I" stories listed below are listed as such because Volume I of The Dark
LG> Tower was originally published in serial fashion, as five separate
LG> stories over that four year period of time.
Phew!!!I thought I had totally lost it...I will have to go check out the 1st
books in the series though...do they read almost the same?
LG> Today, you'll see them published as one book, with five "chapters" in
 LG> the volume.

 LG> 80 Danse Macabre..read it...did not much like it:-(
 LG> 84 Cycle of the Werewolf...was sokay..
 LG> 84 Talisman...tried to read it couldn't gave up...
 LG> 86 It...read it...and read it again...liked it
 LG> 93 Nightmares and Dreamscapes...read it..definetly loved it
LG> I've not read these five.... in fact, I'm currently "negotiating" with
LG> the SKL book club to find out if they can be bought through the club or
 LG> not.
Well out of all of them I liked "IT" and "NIGHTMARES & DREAMSCAPES" the
est.
As I told you I can seem to get into "The Talisman"...I've tried reading
it a couple times, and it just loses me somewhere...Hey Lawrence, go read
the Talisman first and tell me if you can get into it...Please:-)
How do you join the SKL club...I didn't even know there was one
 LG> 96 Desperation...tried to read it...
 LG> 96 The Regulators (R.Bachman)read it...like it...
LG> Interesting... I suspect one's perspectives on these two stories might
LG> make for an interesting psychoanalysis of the reader.
 Ok...so psychonanalysis me
LG> I know -about- the stories, as a colleague of mine at work has read
LG> both, but I've not read either yet. I have a copy of Desperation,
LG> waiting on the stack (after Rose Madder and Green Mile). I'll need to
LG> go 'find' a copy of Regulators.
You're not suppose to find out from friends doesn't that ruin it for you?
I didn't much care for Rose Madder; it was ok...just not great... Geez, you
are behind Lawrence...hurry up and catch up already!!

LG> 97 DTIV: Wizard & Glass...can't wait to read it....
LG> Based on what I've read, so far, I'd be inclined to recommend to the
LG> new reader of The Dark Tower series, that they read the middle part of
LG> _Wizard and Glass_ after The Gunslinger, but before The Waste Lands. It
LG> could put a whole new perspective on how one reads The Waste Lands!
Well, as I said I will have to go and reread the series again cuz I need to
catch up; reintroduce myself to Roland and his troubles....
LG> I actually had that opportunity, but in stead, boring, fashion, went
LG> out and bought Waste Lands before diving into Wizard and Glass --
LG> although one -does- need to read Waste Lands before reading the first
 LG> 100 pages of Wizard!
 Hey, that would be cheating....
 Well chow for now...Stewy
