I know two other folks running XP and VADV J> software and I have tried their batchfile routines but no luck :( Jim: Here's a couple of considerations: * add a PAUSE in your batch file right after the game exits and do a test yourself to see if anything is ebing output to the console when the game quits. Be sure to remove the pause once you've completed the test :) * You may have a problem with the game not working with Netfoss. I haven't tried myself (Synchronet BBS emulates a FOSSIL itself). * Make sure your directories/pathnames haven't gotten mangled. A space or a long directory name may be keeping the BBS from finding the batch file or directory that the game is in. * Run the game locally from the command prompt to see if it's exiting with the dreaded PASCAL runtime error 200. If so, you'll need to patch the software with the 3rd party tool you can get at the JDS website. * XP does play around with your autoexec.bat and config.sys for the command shell. It's a bit tricky to figure out, but check to make sure your paths are set correctly in the environment that's running the BBS. Let me know if this yields and further info. ---* Origin: http ftp telnet://badnews.bbs.us & badnewsbbs.darktech.org (3:633/690) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 633/690 285 260 261/38 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
