Can someone tell me how you distinguish between arthritis and PPS?
I had non-paralytic polio in 1944 and returned to "good" health in 
two months with only a slightly shorter left side.  Now I am having 
much pain in my hips, knees and ankles as well as the outside of the 
lower legs when I walk or stand for a prolonged period of time.  I 
have been very busy for several years (over doing every day for days 
on end).  At first I thought it was just stress and tried to rest 
between activities, however, even that hasn't helped.  In 1988 I saw 
a Doctor who did xrays, bone scan and a catscan of the hip area.  He 
said there was no deformity and could see nothing that would result 
in the pain.
Any help in this area would be appreciated.
