The trouble with the nexus is that once you are i it you don't want to
leave! That means that when the crew of the voyager enter the nexus that
will be the end of the series - and the crew. Kirk and Picard were able to
leave the nexus because of their strong self control and feeling of duty to
do what is right. This wouldn't apply with the voyager crew - once in the
nexus they could all believe that they were at home and not care anymore,
maybe one or two would have the willpower to leave. But Soran was prepared
to destroy a civilisation just to get back! The other trouble with the
nexus is that it just wasn't thought aut at all well leaving many loose
ends that couldn't be tied up and causing no end of trouble with fans who
watch carefully and are or a mind to complain. I think that the nexus is an
idea that the producers will be only too happy to drop! Thanks for reading.
