I was reading in a recent Nursing journal that the chances of getting
Alzheimer's disease after meopause are almost three times lower for patients
who are taking estrogen, according to researchers who studied 1124 elderly
women.
Overall, 156 of these women started taking estrogen at the onset of meopause.
During follow-up, whch ranged from 1 to 5 years, only nine estrogen-users
developed Alzheimer's. Amoung the 968 participants who did not take
estrogen, 158 were diagnosed with the disease.
