-> I just picked up a Radio Shack Trunk Tracker Handheld also. I find
-> the sensitivity much worse then my other RS handheld. I too am
-> having some trouble getting it to Trunk Track. Perhaps someone here
-> will enlighten us about this toy.
BJ> Another friend of mine got the RS model on sale a few weeks ago. WHen
BJ> it didn't perform weell, he came over than compared it to my Uniden.
BJ> Not nearly as good. he returned it and got the Uniden, which was also
BJ> on sale, and about $25 less than the RS model, and got the extra
 BJ> battery too boot.
BJ> Call me late afternoon if you need help programming it. It LOOKS
BJ> simple, but the steps are critical.
If I were to get a handheld, it would be the Uniden instead of the
Radio Shack, since there is a package deal with the extra battery and
charger. I've got two of the base units here. Both are monitoring
the same system. One is on dedicated tac frequencies and the other
is on dedicated dispatch frequencies. I did this because of the way
this particular county has their radio services organized. (It's
a long story...)
You might recall that I had trouble trying to program my TT when I got it
because I didn't know the difference between I, II and II1 systems and
the manual isn't quite as helpful on configuring the different types.
You had to tip me off before I got it going good.
