ML> MC> I would say that it's safe to assume you have been to Forney Museum in
ML> MC> Denver? I was always impressed by the massive stature of the Big Boy,
ML> MC> but that one there is in a poor state of decay. Cheyenne has a better
ML> MC> restored one and their are 6 others elsewhere around the US.
ML>Yes, I have been there several times, adn to the Colorado Railroad Museum in
ML>Golden.
ML>It is unfortunate about that Big Boy at Forney. It is being weathered at th
ML>mercy of the elements! And UP's Challenger is going to the shop for a two-
ML>year scheduled overhaul. Their 4-8-4 Hudson steam locomotive (#844) will be
ML>on tour during that time period.
I have been to the Forney twice, most recently in 1990. JD Forney had
recently died and the museum was selling some of the surplus license
plates from his collection so I am honored to have a few Forney owned
Colorado plates in my collection. :>
