-> -> My question is this, if I am a licensed amateur radio operator, a
-> -> meter rig can tune out of band (Which it can) and I can tune to a
-> -> frequency say in 153-156 MHz are they going to confiscate it in
-> -> these states even though I am licensed by the federal gov to use a
-> -> carry this radio in my car?
->
-> FCC regulations override State laws covering Ham radios that tune
-> out-of-band. That premption does NOT cover anything other than Ham
-> radios, however.
Some of the restriction Laws can STILL forbid you to Listen while in
your Car Unless you are operating under some Official Public Service
situation like ARES or RACES operations.
