Carl Brown was intercepted asking.....
CB>Todd, wanna hear about some real strange interference?
I pull into my driveway still talking on my CB radio.
Park the truck and my wife goes in and checks the answering
machine and finds my voice on the tape along with a message
from a friend who apparently called while I had just pulled
up the driveway. My voice was loud and clear on the tape too,
with no mods or amplifiers to this CB!
CB>I wonder if I'm being receieved by anyone else in the area.
CB>-={Carl}=-
You are.....Probably by your own telephone lines from the pole
on the street to your home. These lines were "active" passing
a normal conversational voice from your friend, and they probably
"detected" your voice on the CB at the same time due to the close
proximity of your transmitter. Not to "blame" your transmitter,
and this can happen with devices that are completely legal.
However, to eliminate the problem in the future contact your local
telephone service provider, or even a neighborhood amateur radio
operator and they will be happy to help. If you need help locating
an amateur radio operator (they are always less costly than telephone
companies) send your address to me, and I'll locate one, or a group.
Many "hams" live in New Jersey, and you'll learn about a different
radio hobby in the process.....Better talking to a friend instead of
the FCC......
