 The Santa Fe had some problems with washouts on the Raton Pass line 
(crossing from Colorado into New Mexico) either last year or two years ago, 
with one disaster just barely averted. They must have become paranoid about 
weather conditions as a result.
 Didn't the napalm train come through your area?
