I have my problem solved temporarily with the bird poop and my carpet. I was
at an office supply supermart and spotted a large heavy-vinyl carpet runner
of the type used around desks to allow chair casters to glide easily
without damaging the carpet. It's 5x6 feet and plenty big enough for the
area of the cage. It cost me five bucks.
Since I don't allow my Molluccan to roam away from the area of the cage, it
has solved my poop problem until my new flooring gets installed.
Next comes potty training....
