Elvis, glad to hear that your parrots are still around. Lately I have
discovered that the Quaker is going strong in the Austin area and
occupies areas that I didn't know that they were in.
A few Saturdays ago I drove the girls softball team to one of the local
baseball complexes. Before I could get out of the bus I heard this loud
chatter of parrots. I quit counting after I saw 15 nests sites. It seems
that these little guys have taken over the stand on top of the light
poles.
In talking to one of the parents I was informed that this is not the
only field that has been taken over by them. In thinking about it I
realized that they were following the river.
In discussing this on another list I was surprised that to hear that
some of our more well known aviculturist think that they do not belong
in the wild...at least here...and that they should be recaptured. This
I do not go along with...but, each to his own thoughts.
