Buu Huynh whispered these words to Robert LaPrise:
Well met friend Buu!
BH> I don't think the MODERATOR is doing a good job moderating this
 BH> echo.
Do we actually have one? With the Inet being such a big deal with many,
that's probably where everyone wandered off to.
BH> You can talk about anything you want as long as it's related to
 BH> music composing.
BH> Do yuo have your own studio?
Nope, got a beater nylon string classical I practice with and an old
Kay archtop needing a major overhaul. So I work on stuff similar in style to
the acoustic intro's Alex would play on the earlier RUSH tunes, as well as
some of Randy's stuff with Ozzy. Need to get my equipment together but I'm
gearing up to start doing mods, repairs, and designing of amps and effects so
it may be awhile.
Guess the main problem now is I don't put the time into writing that I
should. And as 90% of the things I've worked on has been other peoples stuff,
the timing matter has always been from the ability to hear the beat in my
head as I move along. So I also need to start thinking more along the lines
of what meter to use, keeping track of the note duration, etc.. It'll come
eventually. Seems like I hit these plateaus where I get stuck, then one day
Boom! I find myself heading along to the next. Guess it's kind of like
climbing a steep hill where you want to hit the top but every now and then
your body says 'Hey, time to rest for a spell and enjoy the view'.
L,L,&L,
      robert
