 Well, here's the reason. I've heard (where?) that some states prohibit using 
a scanner in a car to everyone except those who have amateur licenses. Yeah, 
I could get the license for that reason alone, but someh that doesn't sound 
right to me. If I'm  to get the license, it should be because I want to get 
the license, not for the peripheral purpose of running a scanner in a car. I 
just wanted to get the opinions of some hams; that's all. If I did get the 
license, I'd probably start with the the RS 2m handheld, unless it inspires 
bad reviews from you guys.
