My baby Moluccan Cockatoo is loud and messy, but the research I did
enabled me to know that ahead of time. :) Moluccans are among the
biggest of the parrot species and generally you will hear experienced
bird people say that larger birds are not good for first-time bird
owners, but my three years of reading and research did prepare me
somewhat in dealing with her. We're getting along just fine! The
few questions I have had so far have been answered by the nice people
in this echo.
One thing you can do is buy "Birdtalk" magazine. It's crammed with info
on all types of birds and aviculture with lots of ads so you can get a
taste of what's out there. I think a year's subscription is $24.00.
