I think maybe he was hoping for too much from WinRadio, but compared to a
dedicated base-station scanner, the biggest problems were:
Poor sensitivity
Prone to Cross-mods/intermods (admittedly he is line of sight with several
Band II transmitters and numerous pagers)
Pickup of crud and funnies from the PC itself

Now that's also interesting. I think my pal had an early model (purchased in
Singapore on a business trip). And, as I say, maybe he was expecting too 
uch,
being used to commercial/professional equipment.
One thing he did say he liked was the bundled software. I guess you pays
your money and takes your choice :-)
