Thanks for that advice, Rick. That makes sense. I can do both. I have
closed caption on the TV so I can turn out the lights and watch TV
with no sound and just read the captions. She seems to be bonding with
me just fine. I have her out of the cage as much as I can and this morning
as I was cleaning the cage with her on top of it, she started grooming me!
Now I have to find out if these birds tend to make soft vocalizations as
they're falling asleep. I can't tell what she's saying or what the noise
is that she's making, but it seems like she's talking to herself as she's
settling down for the night.
I had her at an avain vet's yesterday for an exam and tests to make sure she
has no parasites or diseases. $490 for the whole thing, most of it for the
lab tests which include DNA sexing and a whole panel of blood work. I didn't
pay THAT much for her cage!!!! Sheesh.
