subject: WINRADIO?

-> Good day,
->
-> I have been seriously considering purchasing the Internal Card radio
-> (WinRadio - the cheaper version). I am wondering if this thing is any
-> Good?
->
->
-> Also I would prefer to have it frequency agile to 1600 mhz but I
-> have been given to understand that this is available only in the
-> more expensive version of it. Can anyone set me on the correct
-> course in this matter? I have a friend who say's that they are junk
-> and I should just buy a AOR or similar desk top radio.
 I suspect your Friend is somewhat Tunnel Visioned. Because for JUNK the
Winradio sure Impressed Grove Enterprises and Bill Cheek. It has gotten
some quite good reviews. But as far as modifying frequency range short
of an External Mixer for up or down conversion FORGET IT! So if the
Deluxe version does what you want Hold off until you can afford the
extra cost. And remember if you want to really get fancy you can put 4
or so Winradio cards in your Computer. :-) :-)
 But with all this said a Good, But More Expensive, Table top is still
Better. As they say, You Get what you Pay For!
