Hi all! It's the long-lost moderator, who last appeared in this Echo on
Christmas day. Life has been BUSY here lately, and I've been very lax in
logging onto Fidonet. Baaaad moderator!
I've got a new job, which of course is taking up way too much time. But
the best news is that my jendays (who lost a whole clutch of
ready-to-hatch eggs back around Thanksgiving for no reason anyone could
determine) went back to nest, and we now have 2 3-week-old babies in the
box! I'm thrilled! The Conure list on the Internet had a name-the-babies
contest, and the babies were named Gilbert & Sullivan by the winner.
They are both doing well, and I plan to pull them for handfeeding soon
(exactly when depends on my work schedule). They have been approved to
go to work with me by my wonderful boss, as long as they are quiet...
THIS could be interesting, as they're both pretty squeaky when they get
hungry. They haven't developed those incredible conure lungs yet,
though, so they're not nearly as noisy as their parents.
Anyway, I wanted to drop in and let y'all know I haven't died, and I do
still have a computer. I am going to schedule regular times (hopefully
at least once a week) to check in on the echo so I won't be such a
stranger (bad policy when nobody on the echo knows who the moderator is,
I suspect).
Talk to you later!
