Hi,
Myself I own an Indian Ringneck, but have worked with Africans and been an
Aviculturist for many years. Unlike almost any other parrot species Ringnecks
do not bond.Ringnecks should be placed together several months before
breeding season, they generally breed in the spring. Sometimes they will
start in Jan or Feb. It does not sound as if they have known each other long
enough. The male will stay away from the female until she decides she wants to
breed then she will court him,if they are housed together I hope it is a very
large cage because you are right the females have been known to kill a male
that has not kept his distant.
Remove the infertile eggs.If she thinks she is brooding she will not be
interested in breeding.A breeding box could encourage her hormones into
activity when supplied with proper bedding material to chew she should get
the idea.
Finally a question: How old are they?
Debbie....
