You should clip the females wings and make sure that there is room in the 
age
for the male to get away from the female if she gets nasty and put a nest box 
on the cage. You didn't say how old the birds areso I am asuming that the are 
of breeding age. The amount of time that the birds are together should not 
make a difference in wheter or not they will get along or not and the female 
is normally more agressive with rignecks when they want to breed but if She 
s
overly agressive then You should separate them.
