Hi! Kathy,
Once upon a time, KATHY JOHNSON whispered to PAUL QUINN:
PQ> KJ> eggs, but he never touches her! He sits outside the box and sings
he
PQ> KJ> 'I'm a big important male bird' song all day. They just don't seem
o
PQ>This is normal behaviour for a young birdie. In fact it's just normal
or
PQ>any male cockatiel more than about 3 years old.
KJ> This particular pair is between 6 & 8 years old...they should have
KJ> some idea by now!
Damned right. :)
PQ>so to speak. If you hang in there for a few more weeks, you may well
PQ>be in luck.
KJ> I think a conversation got crossed somewhere--I don't really WANT my
KJ> tiels to breed! And as far as seasons, cockatiels will breed
Oops. Not crossed; merely that I came in late to the conversation, after the
echo was activated by my uplink.
KJ> anyplace, any time, as long as conditions are right (food, light,
KJ> shelter). They're rather like rabbits, unlike most other parrot
KJ> species who DO have breeding seasons.
Big oops. I bow to your experience in these matters.
Cheers,
Paul.
