Hi, Kurt...
KW{at}> so, presumably those handful of people who still read these echos have
KW{at}> probably noticed i haven't been posting news of new malware in a
KW{at}> while...
KW{at}> sophos changed the way their email notifications work so that it's
KW{at}> really not suitable for the application i was using it for anymore...
I was wondering what happened.
KW{at}> i've considered trying to find something else that was suitable but
KW{at}> it's occurred to me that this is an opportune time to ask those still
KW{at}> following these echos what kind of content they'd like to see here...
I discovered, at least for now, F-Prot is still releasing virus definition
and macro virus definition files for F-Prot for DOS 3.16f, even though the
main program is no longer supported or updated. The only reason I keep those
on the BBS, is that every so often, I get a user who gets an older computer,
and logs on via dial-up...wanting virus protection...but has no desire for
the newer versions of Windows. I myself won't upgrade to Vista...I have too
many legacy DOS applications that won't run under it.
I myself, enjoyed the postings that you did with that, and am sorry to see
them go. I recently switched to the CA Internet Security Suite...which is a
combination anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, anti-phishing, firewall,
parental controls, DNA destop migrator, and more. They have a special on
right now...$70 allows installation on up to 3 computers. For me, it found
viruses and spyware that AVG and AdAware missed!! To me, it has paid for
itself!!
A Google search for CA Internet Security Suite will take them to the correct
website.
Daryl
... Windows is NOT a virus...viruses don't need 20 megabytes of DLLs to work!!
