CR> God had already decided to do exactly what He did and
CR> knew exactly what He was going to do. The whole incident was for CR>
Abraham's benefit, not God's.
That's not what the Isaac stories says. God specifically states "now I
know". The only possible explanation for that statement is that God did not
know before.
CR> The case of Moses is also the same. God does not
CR> literally repent, but for
CR> Moses' own peace of mind and to teach the Jews a
CR> spiritual and theological
CR> lesson the Scriptures portray a change in God's intention.
Then God lied to Moses. It's that simple.
CR> True. Free will did lead to rebellion because the innocence and sinless
CR> state of Adam and Eve and even Satan was mutable or changeable. God
does
CR> not change. He never sins.
The key part of this passage however is that God says he thought they would
one thing, but they did another. God guessed. Why? Because he didn't know!
And even more, he admits that he guessed WRONG!
CR> Again, this is a misconception. People are elected before the
foundation
CR> of the world. However, they are not saved until the point of their
CR> response:
But if the election is irresistable? Calvin once agains places himself
neatly in a closed circle.
