                The 4th oldest conference on the backbone!


        This is the International Fidonet Echomail conference COMM.
        This echo is for civilized, mature discussion.  Personal
        attacks and vilification have no place here.

- Appropriate topics include-

    * modems                * terminal emulation & BBS software
    * fax machines          * telephone equipment & services
    * comm s/w & protocols  * telecommunications legislation

- Rules, policy, style, etc.
  (nothing below shall dilute Fidonet policy) -

    * All discussions regarding hardware/software shall be of a
      technical nature only.  No "My-Widget-Can-Beat-Your-Widget" msgs.
      Departures from this shall be considered annoying behavior.
    * Write politely - no flames, character assasinations, or
      obscenities; do *not* quote filth. There will be -zero-
      tolerance.
    * Quote only that which ties to your reply -- stop QUOTAHOLISM
    * Advertising: only topic related announcement allowed
    * Submit all announcements of products/services to the moderator
      - Commercial solictations are prohibited
    * Buy/Sell postings are -not- permitted
    * Real names are required. If your "From: " is an alias or handle,
      include your real name in the msg. This requirement may be waived
      at the discretion of the moderator if there is a compelling
      explanation sent via netmail.
    * Don't request routine FidoNet info here, ask your Sysop/local net
    * No unsolicited BBS ads
    * The posting of "test" msgs is considered annoying behavior
    * Don't reply to inappropriate messages, leave it to the moderator
    * Chatting: move non topical communications talk to netmail
    * Limit announcements to one per fortnight
    * Use netmail for corresponding to the moderator; don't moderate
    * Please use standard english, exc: recognized Intn'l phrases
    * Don't type in all upper case unless your equipment can't do lower
    * Multi-line signatures are not to exceed 3 lines
    * No high-order ASCII characters-(>128) or ASCII CTRL codes
    * Telephone numbers: don't forget the country and area code
    * Propose changes to the above by Netmail to: Gord Hannah (1:17/23)

I suggest that this message be available to users in whatever way your
software provides, so that new users can find it easily.

The Moderator reserves the right to take part in any discussions on the
echo, without regard to his status as Moderator.  When he is acting
specifically as Moderator, he will sign his message as:
