->Well, the clue was given on the opening show for the season
->on Sportschannel. A caller asked ML why the Celtics didn't
->go after the free agents that were out there. His response
->was one dealing with finance, like, gee, some of these teams
->gave out contracts worth more than the franchise! Reading
->his answers between the lines - they look to be tanking it
->for the lottery.
I don't even think we have to read between the lines anymore.. I think ML
admitted recently that no-one wants them to win anyways so they have a
better shot at Duncan.. or words to that effect. *sigh* get his dumbass
out of there, that's the advice I have for Boston.
->Since we started this dialogue, Don Nelson has since cleaned
->house and is restarting (essentially) from scratch down in
->Dallas. This looms big for the Celtics, who own the Dallas
->draft pick. Only hope that the Celtics draw number 1 in the
->Tim Duncan lottery -- and hope that Philadelphia DOESN'T get
->the number 1 (Duncan-Stackhouse-Iverson -- uh oh, look out!)
Dallas certainly can't be expected to get much better in the foreseeable
future. Getting the 5 or 6 pick along with 1 would be outstanding. As for
Philly... well, people said Iverson-Stackhouse would turn them around, and
it sure hasn't.. but you have to believe Duncan would just be too much
talent for P. not to improve.
... Never miss a good opportunity to shut your face.
