MJ> 1. THE CHRIST OF ARMIANISM - loves every individual person in
MJ> the world and sincerely desires their salvation.
John 1:7, John 12:32, Romans 5:18, 1Tim 2:3-6, 1Tim 4:10, Tit 2:11
MJ> 2. THE CHRIST OF ARMINIANISM - offers salvation to every
MJ> sinner and does all in his power to bring them to salvation.
MJ> His offer and work are often frustrated, for many refuse to
MJ> come.
See the above, plus Romans 1:18-21
MJ> 3. THE CHRIST OF ARMINIANISM - can not regenerate and save
MJ> a sinner who does not first choose Christ with his own "free
MJ> will." All men have a "free will" by which they can either
MJ> accept or reject Christ. That "free will" may not be
MJ> violated by Christ.
Again, see Romans 1:18-21
MJ> 4. THE CHRIST OF ARMINIANISM - died on the cross for every
MJ> individual person and thereby made it possible for every
MJ> person to be saved. His death, apart from the choice of man,
MJ> was not able to actually save anyone for many for whom he
MJ> died are lost.
This is basically the same thing you said before.
MJ> 5. THE CHRIST OF ARMINIANISM - loses many whom he has "saved"
MJ> because they do not continue in faith. Even if he does give them
MJ> "eternal security," as some say, that security is not based upon
MJ> his will or work but the choice which the sinner made when he
MJ> accepted Christ.
1Cor 10:12, 2Pet 1:10, 2Pet 2:20-21
MJ> As you can see, although the Christ of Arminianism and the
MJ> Christ of the Bible may at first seem to be the same, they
MJ> are very different.
Let me rephrase this a bit. The Christ of Armenianism and the Christ of
Calvinism are different. The question becomes, which is the Christ of
scripture. When we read ALL the passages, the answer becomes clear to those
are willing to accept God's word, even when it doesn't fit with their
understanding.
MJ> If you believe and serve the Christ of Arminianism, you must
MJ> recognize that you do not serve the Christ of the Bible. You
MJ> have been deceived! Study the Scriptures and learn of the
MJ> True Christ. Pray for grace to repent and trust Christ as
MJ> your sovereign Savior.
Why should they repent under your system? If they're elected they have
nothing to worry about, and if they're not elected, then repentance won't
help. In fact, i beleiev that your tecahing is that they will not be able to
repent.
This gets back to the biggest question about Calvinistic teaching. If the
unelect are unsavable and the elect are automatically saved, what's the point
of studying or tecahing or evangelising?
